This policy explains how Cars Deals ("we", "us") collects and uses personal data when you visit our website or contact us, in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the laws of the Republic of Cyprus.
Who we are
Yachts Masters Limited, trading as Cars Deals, John Kennedy Avenue 35, Palouriotissa, Nicosia 1046, Cyprus is the controller of your personal data. You can reach us by phone on +357 99 01 00 01 or by email at carsdeals@icloud.com.
What we collect
- Details you send us after filling in our forms ("Order Your Car", "Sell Your Car" and viewing bookings): your name, phone number, email address (optional) and the car details you enter. The website does not store these forms; it only prepares a message that you send us yourself on WhatsApp or by email.
- Messages you choose to send us on WhatsApp, by phone or by email.
- Technical data needed to run the website securely, such as your IP address and browser type, kept in short-lived server logs.
Why we use it, and on what legal basis
- To answer your request, arrange a viewing, source a car or help you sell yours: steps taken at your request before a possible contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR) and your consent given in the form (Article 6(1)(a)).
- To keep the website secure and prevent abuse: our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)).
- To meet legal obligations, for example accounting and vehicle registration rules, when you buy or sell a car (Article 6(1)(c)).
Photos of your car
Photos you choose in the "Sell Your Car" form stay on your device. They are never uploaded to our website; you attach them yourself to your WhatsApp message or email if you wish.
Who receives your data
We never sell your data or use it for advertising.
- Supabase, our database provider, on servers in the EU. It holds the content of this website, not your form details.
- Hostinger, which hosts the website.
- WhatsApp (Meta), only if you choose to contact us on WhatsApp. Their own privacy policy applies.
- Google, only if you choose to show the embedded map. Google may then set its own cookies.
Transfers outside the EU
Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, they rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for up to 24 months after our last contact, unless you buy or sell a car with us, in which case we keep the records required by law for as long as the law requires. You can ask us to delete your enquiry sooner.
Your rights
To use any of these rights, contact us using the details above. You can also complain to the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection, Iasonos 1, 1082 Nicosia, Cyprus (www.dataprotection.gov.cy).
- Access the personal data we hold about you and receive a copy.
- Correct data that is wrong or incomplete.
- Ask us to delete your data, or to restrict how we use it.
- Object to processing based on our legitimate interest.
- Withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting what we did before.
- Receive your data in a portable format.
